The Data Engineer is responsible for designing and developing robust, scalable solutions for collecting, analyzing large data sets, creating and maintaining data pipelines, data structures and reports to be used by the Operations, Marketing, and Revenue Teams at Spendgo.



  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques
  • Create a data pipeline from Amazon S3 to Redshift
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets 
  • Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems 
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs 
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities


Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ Years of proven working experience as a data engineer
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a project team
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Expert level knowledge of SQL queries (MySQL, Redshift)
  • Advanced level knowledge of database schema design and scalability
  • Advanced level knowledge of database performance tuning
  • Strong experience working with relational databases and large data sets
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings. 
  • Strong experience with database high availability / failovers / replication

  • Strong experience with Amazon AWS technologies

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience performing ETL operations

  • Experience with database administration

  • Experience with NoSQL is a plus
